We are currently looking for a Learning Mentor to join a primary support service in Camden who provide a wide range of professional therapy and support for pupils.
**About the school/service** These specialist provision is made up of a Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PPRU), Behaviour Outreach Team and a Language and Communication Service. They offer a specialist therapeutic and educational placement for children who cannot attend mainstream schoolbecause of social, emotional and mental health needs, or who have been permanently excluded from school. They provide a stimulating and secure learning environment for pupils and give each pupil a positive experience of school. Sometimes a child stays withthem for only a short period, whilst another placement is being sought.
**The Role** The provision are currently looking for a Learning Mentor to join their team to meet the the social, emotional, mental health and academic needs of highly vulnerable children, to help them make progress in all areas and be ready for their next stage in learning.As part of the team, you will help to facilitate the transfer from one educational establishment to another, ensuring that the children experience educational and emotional stability throughout the transition period. You will be working with both individualsand groups of children and their families, teachers and external support teams including social services, education welfare and health professionals.

- Building confidence, raise self-esteem, build resilience and motivation
- Improving social skills, form relationships with friends, family and staff
- Improving attendance and punctuality
- Removing barriers to learning
- Helping children to achieve their potential
For families you will
- Improve support and communication between home and school
- Provide them with guidance and access to outside agencies and someone to talk to in confidence
