Bishop's Stortford, United Kingdom Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Delivering great care, achieving great outcomes - together

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is a successful provider of mental health and learning disability services delivering services, rated Outstanding by CQC. We are a Values Based organisation and our aim is to ensure that we deliver an experience that is consistently welcoming, kind, positive, respectful and professional, because these are the values that our service users, carers and staff told us meant the most to them.

We now have a vacancy for a band 7 DBT therapist to join our established DBT programmes across the East and South East quadrant (Main base Bishops Stortford but requirement to offer some support to other teams in the quadrant also). Working closely with the local DBT leads, this post offers an exciting opportunity to join an established group of therapists who provide a local DBT service, as well as joining the wider network of therapists, locally and across the trust. The service works to meet the needs of service users who are experiencing significant difficulties with emotional instability and working within the local multi-disciplinary community teams. We pride ourselves on the quality of the service that we offer and place importance on supporting all our therapists to provide great care, with an emphasis placed on maintaining and developing therapist skills and regular supervision.

This post would suit someone with a core mental health qualification and registration (including nursing, social work, occupational therapy, practitioner psychologist or other appropriately registered therapists - see person spec for details) and with an interest of working collaboratively with service users (and their families) to develop their skills to improve their ability to tolerate and manage strong emotion. Also it would suit someone who loves working as part of a therapy team and alongside multidisciplinary colleagues. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with this service user group in community settings. Ideally they will have experience, or training in DBT or SCM, however we are happy to consider to individuals able to commit to completing these training who can also demonstrate considerable experience of working with this Service User group. Experience of providing consultation or training would be an advantage, as providing training and consultation is key to this role. HPFT places an emphasis on the provision of high quality therapy services, and recognises that training is core to this, therefore training opportunities will be available. The post will be based as described, but the ability to work flexibly as the needs of the service demands will be essential. The post holder would expect some travel within their working week.

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is an outstanding organisation with ambitions to match. We are one of just five mental health trusts to achieve an overall rating of ‘Outstanding’ from the Care Quality Commission, and our aim is to be the leading provider of mental health and specialist learning disability services in the country.

Our family of over 3500 members of staff provide health and social care for over 400,000 people with mental ill health, physical ill health and learning disabilities across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Norfolk, delivering these services within the community and several inpatient settings. We also deliver a range of nationally commissioned specialist services including Tier 4 services for children and young people, perinatal services, plus medium and low secure learning disabilities services.

The care we provide makes a fantastic difference to the lives of our service users, their families and carers - everything is underpinned by choice, independence and equality, with our Trust values embedded throughout:
**Our Trust values are**:
Welcoming. Kind. Positive. Respectful. Professional.

These values are at the core of who we are, everything we do, and how we do it
