HR & Training Officer

1. Areas of Responsibility/Duties:
i. To recruit, select, appoint and induct new employees including liaison with management and supervisors, creating and updating all recruitment information, developing appropriate selection tools and issuing contracts of employment;
ii. To maintain, develop and update accurate personnel and attendance records including monitoring and evaluating sickness scheme documentation and records;
iii. To provide HR statistics and information to management as required;
iv. To administer employment contract changes;
v. To undertake training needs analysis in order to plan and organise training programmes;
vi. To manage and update training plans and records;
vii. To liaise with managers and local schools and colleges to administer apprentership schemes and work experience schemes;
viii. To manage and implement the company retirement and service recognition policy;
ix. To attend to the welfare of staff including in-house counselling and welfare visits where appropriate;
x. To work with the Safety Officer to organise Health and Safety matters including co-ordinating the work of the Safety Committee, ensuring risk assessments are up to date, maintaining accident records and issuing safety wear;
xi. To maintain communication with the shop stewards and local officials of Unite union
xii. To implement disciplinary and grievance procedures and advise management on disciplinary and grievance matters where necessary;
xiii. To maintain a good standard of housekeeping throughout the company including organisation of the cleaning contractors, upkeep of the First Aid Room and upkeep of company notice boards.
xiv. To monitor, update and develop HR policies in line with employment law and company requirements.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 24 per week
**Salary**: From £24,000.00 per year
