We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated Operations Supervisor to join our team in Derby (DE65 6BG). You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective running of the operation by making the best use of resources and planning. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Transport Yard/Warehouse team to ensure that customer requirements are achieved in a timely manner. The shift patterns for this role are Monday to Friday (07:00-15:30, based on a 40-hour contract, although these could change slightly based on the needs of the business).

Key responsibilities:

- As directed, safely handling products through all inbound and outbound processes, ensuring all company procedures are adhered to
- Ensuring all goods are handled in the correct manner to ensure that damage to kept to a minimum and manual handling techniques are followed to prevent injury and harm
- Carrying out any other reasonable requests to support the effective running of the warehouse including HR and HS&E tasks
- Ensuring all vehicles are loaded and unloaded using the correct equipment and customer requirements are delivered within the required timescale
- Ensuring that all business communications are effectively managed and shared with the team and Management as appropriate
- Ensuring all company procedures are adhered to, including HR procedures, such as absence and performance management, standards of behaviour, disciplinary, etc,
- Supporting with investigations and disciplinary hearings as necessary
- Continuously looking to improve processes and procedures to drive efficiency and improvement in business operation and customer service
- Ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including PPE, escalating any concerns to your line manager at the earliest opportunity
- Ensuring all equipment checks are carried out in accordance with procedures, raising any defects immediately

Key Skills and Experience:

- Supervisory experience is essential with the ability to lead a team
- Previous warehouse experience is essential
- FLT licence is advantageous
- Ability to adapt to change in a fast-flowing industry
- Ability to withstand pressure and work to tight deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Computer literate, including experience of Excel
