The role of Mechanical Design Engineer will see you not only working on your own projects, but also potentially supporting and leading our team of designers and engineers. Your responsibilitieswill include: - Technical oversight on multiple projects - Support and assist other engineers in the team - Work closely with Business Development Managers, assist in preparing quotations and tender proposals - Ensure development of innovative designs - Assist in certifying mechanical equipment to Australian and specific mining Standards - Make a positive contribution to the overall growth of the company - Run advanced FEA calculations using SolidWorks Simulation and/or ANSYS software - Check and approve peers’ deliverables (FEA calculations & reports as well as 3D models & drawings) **About You** You will be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a demonstrable performance history. You will bring a wealth of skills & knowledge to meet the following requirements: **+ Mandatory**: - Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering - 5 years’ experience in an engineering position, preferably in a consultancy environment - Experience in FEA (SolidWorks Simulation and/or ANSYS preferred) - Experience in Design for Manufacture - Knowledge of various Australian Standards - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Attention to details and passion for excellence **+ Desirable**: The following areas will be highly regarded: - Chartered Professional Status from Engineers Australia - Dynamic and Non-Linear Analysis - Experience in Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement - Design of material handling equipment and/or mining industry experience **Who we are** SFDesign is a privately owned, multi - disciplinary engineering and design office located in the heart of Technology Park here in Perth.
