Are you an experienced purchasing officer or buyer?

Have you worked in a manufacturing or distribution environment?

I am working in partnership with a manufacturing/ distribution business in Bishops Stortford who are looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join their team. The role reports into the Purchasing Manager and will involve supporting the overall delivery of the strategy across the business.

The role works alongside both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the entire order cycle from end to end is delivered and maintained enhancing the customer experience and with a sustainable focus.

Day to day duties will include:

- Plan, forecast and order the raw materials, packaging, and productions creating and issuing Purchase Orders
- Assist with the identification and validation of new materials/packaging/suppliers for manufacturing processes
- Negotiate pricing, routing and terms with your defined and approved raw material suppliers
- Manage and monitor the purchase orders raised to completion, including checking systems, order acknowledgement and invoices, along with any after receipt issues that could arise
- Ensure that purchase quality, quantity, delivery and price is correct and resolve problems to agreed conclusions
- Liaise with existing suppliers and contact alternative suppliers if necessary
- Assist with audits from both external and internal stakeholders

The role sits within a small and very supportive team.
