Smelter Supervisor

**Roles & responsibilities**:
- To be responsible for all activities within the Smelting Area
- Review performance data to ensure that the Smelter Complex is operating in the most efficient manner
- To provide the Site Coordinator with regular updates and to agree areas of operational priorities and targets
- Regularly assess the Smelting Team Leader and update skills/competency records
- Ensure the Smelting Team Leader maintains the team’s skills/competency records
- The completion of the Quality & Environmental incident reports
- Ensure that all team members comply with strict HSE regulations and company rules
- Review all current Maintenance issues and agree priorities with Site Co-ordinator
- Ensure that all vehicles used in the area (FLT, FEL, flat lorry, mobile crane, small & large sweeper etc) are being checked as per the vehicle check list
- Ensure consumables stocks are being adequately assessed across the Smelting Complex by the Smelting Team Leaders
- Ensure the team maintain and adhere to workplace standards
- Together with the Smelting Team Leader assume the accountability and responsibility for all activities within your specific area of operations

Qualifications & experience: *
Essential:
- Supervisory experience, preferably gained in an industrial environment
- A strong understanding of the importance of and commitment towards upholding HSE compliance
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate with employees at all levels within the company
- Must have the ability to remain calm when dealing with difficult or conflicting situations
- Ability to use your own initiative
- Strong organisational skills
- Influencing and problem-solving skills
- Able to demonstrate assertiveness
- Computer literate
- Numerate & Literate
- Ability to motivate the team
