Transport Planner

An experienced Transport Planner is required for a Kent based transport company with their offices in Sandwich, East Kent. Founded over 50 years ago they operate throughout the UK, France and Benelux regions of Europe and are currently undergoing a periodof growth and expansion.

Joining a busy team of 5 you will have previous experience in a busy transport environment, planning the routes for drivers mainly in the UK and some in Europe. This is a role for someone who thrives in a pressurised and fast paced environment who is adeptat handling customer's queries and for someone who has strong geographical knowledge of the UK.

**Salary**: Up to £35K + Annual performance based bonus Holiday: 25 days + Bank holidays Hours: Monday - Friday 0800 - 1700

About the role
- Planning daily transport routes for 16-20 vehicles, meeting timed deliveries as required by customers and finding suitable reloads
- Organising shipment of trailers, booking them on to sailings and ensuring the operation runs smoothly
- Providing quotations for new and existing customers
- Ensuring schedules for maintenance and vehicles repairs are updated and monitoring the costs
- Inputting data onto a variety of spreadsheets and systems

About you
- Previous transport planning experience
- Good geographical knowledge of UK
- IT proficient able to use MS packages including word, excel and outlook
- Excellent customer service skills, clear and concise telephone manner
- Able to work under pressure, adaptable to a changing environment and able to make decisions at short notice when required

In return you will receive up to £35k Depending on experience, 25 days holiday + bank holiday, free onsite parking, access to onsite gym and the hours of work are Monday-Friday 0800-1700 with occasional out of hours calls as and when required.
