Handsale prides itself on being an integral part of each of the communities it serves. **Swn-y-Mor Care Centre - Handsale Ltd** Swn-y-Mor Care Centre is a residential and nursing home that also specialises in welcoming younger residents with physical disabilities, thanks to a versatile environment and a flexible team of 88 dedicated staff. Located in Port Talbot and sitting right on the coastline, the home has the advantage of delightful sea views enjoyed from a large garden area. There is also a great deal to enjoy within the centre itself, an extensive activities programme orchestrated by a team of 3, dedicated activities coordinators, providing activities ranging from indoor skittles to its very own gardening club. Swn-y-Mor Care Centre was the proud winner of the "Yours Magazine", UK Care Home of the Year award in 2009. **Responsibilities** We are actively hiring for professional and experienced **Senior Care Assistant **to join our **nights **team. - Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting Clients, when required, with all aspects of daily living. - Support training and supervision of junior and new Staff Members in all aspects of their work in the Care Centre, under the supervision of senior Staff Members. - Assist Clients in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional, and spiritual).Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Clients retain their comfort and dignity. - Pay particular attention to assisting Clients who have limited mobility or physical / learning difficulties making the best use of aids provided. - Assist in the delivery of care for Clients who are dying or who have a progressive illness. Assist with last offices. - Complete, observe, & review care planning needs for Clients, and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the Company’s policies and procedures. - Answer Nurse Call system, giving assistance as required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately. Respond accordingly, and pass on messages promptly. - Carry out regular checks on Clients at intervals determined by senior Staff Members. - Make and change beds, ensuring that rooms are clean and tidy, and commodes are empty, in line with the Care Centre’s disposal of waste policy.
