**Join Our Growing Team of Apprenticeship Coaches at the University of Hertfordshire**

The University of Hertfordshire is expanding its Apprenticeship Coach team — this is an excellent opportunity to join a motivated group dedicated to transforming lives through work-based learning.

As an Apprenticeship Coach, you’ll be at the heart of our mission: supporting apprentices to succeed and thrive across a wide range of professional programmes. Acting as a key link between the apprentice, employer, and academic teams, you’ll guide learners through every stage of their journey, offering expert coaching, practical support, and valuable insight to ensure they develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to excel.

This is more than just a coaching role, it’s a chance to build strong partnerships with employers, influence workplace learning, and make a real impact on the future careers of our apprentices.

If you’re organised and motivated about supporting learners in the workplace, we’d love to hear from you.

**Be part of something bigger. Join us and help shape the future of degree apprenticeships at UH.**

**Main duties and responsibilities**
The Apprenticeship Coach plays a pivotal role in supporting both apprentices and employers throughout the entirety of the apprenticeship journey. Acting as a vital bridge between the apprentice, their employer, and the University, the coach ensures a high-quality and cohesive learning experience that supports successful progression and achievement. This involves consistently monitoring, reviewing and supporting the progress of apprentices; collaborating closely with employers to align academic learning with practical workplace development; ensuring full compliance with both university policy and national apprenticeship regulations; and offering individualised guidance and coaching to help apprentices develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to succeed in their roles.

**Skills and experience required**

Ideally, you will also have experience in providing both pastoral and academic support to students, alongside experience of assessing qualifications and compiling learner portfolios. Administrative expertise and experience of working with senior leaders and their line managers will be advantageous, as will experience with standards or competence-based frameworks. You may also bring recent experience of working with apprenticeships and knowledge of professional body membership pathways, further enhancing your ability to support learners across a diverse range of programmes.

**Qualifications required**

You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent, or substantial proven experience. A recognised teaching qualification or a commitment to undertaking one is desirable, along with Coaching Qualifications and Fellowship of AdvanceHE.

We regret that we are unable to offer UKVI sponsorship for this post; applicants will either hold UK Right to Work or demonstrate access to UK Right to Work before an offer is made.
