JOB BRIEF

Assist with all day-to-day operations of the Visitor’s Centre, be familiar with and able to operate the Annual Pass holder process, assistant with visitor entrance transactions, F&B sales and all general enquiries including but not limited to conference room, visitor add-ons, tours, Gift Aid etc. Ensuring all areas are exceptionally clean, tidy & organised.

Develop and deliver activities in both the VC and Creative Corner to educate people on how to better care for their animals.

Create develop an annual programme of Animal Trails and activities for our younger visitors,

Support all Sanctuary events e.g. fayres, running activities focused on animal welfare.

MAIN PURPOSE:
The post holder will be responsible for assisting & enabling the smooth running of our Visitors Centre. You will be the first point of call for visitors to the Sanctuary which will include members of the public, schools and organisations, trade, and business. Maintaining strong inter departmental communication is always vital alongside excellent and professional customer service.

Deliver the Sanctuary’s activities through Creative Corner, in line with the Education Strategy.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ACTIVITIES
- To provide consistently high standards of visitor care when welcoming visitors to the Sanctuary, processing admissions and membership, Gift Aid & F&B Sales.
- Relay accurate information about planned Sanctuary events.
- To enhance visitors Ferne experience through an excellent ‘meet and greet and by providing general information about the Sanctuary to optimise income generation.
- To respond to comments; listen to feedback from our visitors and to ensure that it is used positively to develop the organisation and its activities.
- To provide the highest possible standard of presentation ensuring that all displays, fixtures, fittings, and premises are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
- To be an advocate for the Sanctuary’s aims by supporting staff and volunteers through effective teamwork and good levels of internal communication
- To keep up to date with the history of the site and past/present/future developments to ensure consistently excellent Sanctuary knowledge.
- Ad-hoc administration tasks and any other duties as requested by the Senior Management Team
- To develop an ongoing programme of activities that support the objectives of the charity.
- Design and construct the talks and trails for the ongoing programme.
- Quantify the impact of the activities as evidence of delivering education on animal welfare.
- Seek feedback from participants to improve the quality of trails and events.
- To devise events that are relevant and also attract visitors throughout the year.

VOLUNTEERS
- To ensure the volunteers understand the health and safety requirements.

SOCIAL MEDIA
- To respond to posts from subscribers
- To generate new posts in line with the charity’s educational objectives

MARKETING & PROMOTION
- To generate signs for the sanctuary as required
- To work with fundraising to ensure their activities are effectively promoted across the sanctuary.
- To assist with fundraising across the sanctuary

FINANCIAL
- Maximise Gift Aid
- Complete End of Day processes and respond to queries from Finance promptly.
