Pharmaxo Healthcare is a growing clinical homecare provider in an expanding market offering greater convenience to patients whilst delivering efficiencies to the NHS.
Microgenetics is a microbiological services business providing microbiological testing and monitoring services, methodologies and technologies in the pharmaceutical manufacturing and clinical/diagnostics sectors.
**Your role**
With increasing investment in our Research & Development (R&D) activities to support a growing product pipeline there has never been a more exciting time to join our small (but expanding) dynamic R&D team, where you will play an integral part in our scientificwork.
You will undertake a range of technical tasks on a routine basis to ensure that our R&D laboratory is suitably maintained to continue generating crucial stability data for biopharmaceuticals and chemotherapy medicinal products. In addition, you will becomeproficient in a multitude of analytical methods and instruments to assess drug stability. This role is predominantly lab-based, however you will also be expected to undertake some office-based work including data processing, the completion of relevant documentationpertaining to experiments and system processes.
**Your duties & responsibilities**
You will be expected to:
- Work in the laboratory in a safe and effective manner and in accordance with relevant safety regulations including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
- Maintain a clean and tidy laboratory environment, with activities including but not limited to washing of laboratory glassware, tidying equipment, sample/consumable storage areas and laboratory waste disposal.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of essential laboratory chemicals, reagents, materials and consumables by performing weekly stock takes, stock trending and stock reporting.
- Perform regular analytical instrument validation / calibration and maintenance activities (e.g. system suitability testing, preparation of buffer solutions / reference standards) to keep analytical systems in good working order and report out of specificationresults contemporaneously.
- Support the team in generating analytical data on physicochemical drug stability, including small molecules (e.g. chemotherapy/antibiotics) and biopharmaceuticals. As well as performing experiments on test samples this also extends to supporting methodvalidation.
- Assist with the maintenance of biological samples and cell cultures (e.g. cryo-storage, cell passaging).
- Show flexibility to provide support to the R&D team when required to meet the needs of a project or the laboratory.
