We are seeking a passionate Teacher of English to join us in a secondary school in Reading. We support our students to become conscientious, high-achieving individuals, who are enriched by the opportunities we provide for them to discover their talents andpassions.

**Following a thorough introduction to the school, your duties will include**:

- Preparing, planning and assessing teaching sessions whilst maintaining an awareness of curriculum developments
- Writing and implement individual education plans, making assessments of educational attainment, setting challenging yet achievable targets
- Build relationships with all young people, which will encourage their interest and participation in their education
- Creating an environment which is stimulating and purposeful for all pupils to promote teaching and learning outside the formal classroom settings

**Requirements**:

- Hold Qualified Teacher Status/ QTLS
- Have a background of teaching English at a secondary level, delivering teaching at a good or outstanding level
- Knowledge of current education issues in relation to terms of practise, process and curriculum
- Have a passionate and creative nature, and have a strong presence in the classroom

The school is relatively small, and therefore each department in the school are made up of 1 to 3 members of staff. This role is suitable for ECTs, as they will be considered as long as you have a strong presence in the classroom. The English departmentis made up of 3 teachers, therefore you must be able to hit the ground running to continue the school’s excellent reputation.
