The Firm

This is a very exciting opportunity to work for a long-established, Top 70 law firm who specialise in providing legal services to businesses and private individuals, both in the UK and internationally.

Having undergone a huge amount of growth in recent years, the firm's Intellectual Property and Commercial Department are now seeking a driven and collegiate Associate to handle a broad caseload consisting of intellectual property, commercial, and data protectionwork.

The team provide legal advice and support to entrepreneurs, creative individuals, SMEs and multi-nationals. Their impressive client base includes well known retailers, media companies and international art galleries.

Described as strategic and collegiate, the team consists of L500 recommended Lawyers and recommended individuals in the WTR1000, all of whom really enjoy working together.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an Associate with experience in handling intellectual property and commercial matters to further their knowledge whilst working amongst some industry leading lawyers.

Responsibilities will vary, but typically include:

- Advising on intellectual property across a range of industry sectors to include art, retail, technology and sport
- Advising organisations on commercial issues such as advertising, promotions and consumer protection
- Drafting and negotiating licences, assignments, agency and distribution agreements, franchises and other commercial agreements
- Advising on a range of data protection issues, drafting data protection clauses in commercial agreements and standalone data protection agreements, privacy policies and impact assessments
- Supporting teams around the firm on the IP aspects of transactions, such as M&A deals and joint venture agreements
- Conducting IP due diligence, drafting and negotiating IP and data protection warranties

**Requirements**:

- Between 4 - 6 years' PQE
- Experience of drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts
- Experience advising on data protection matters
