Wecontinue to develop our in-house expertise, employing over 130 people across a range of design, manufacturing, supply chain, testing, engineering and project disciplines.
We now seek a pragmatic and experienced CAD Technician to join our innovative Operations Development team to generate / maintain CAD models & drawings, and manufacturing build documentation; also assisting in the planning, design, implementation, optimisationand monitoring of our manufacturing processes. Forming part of a small, talented team, this is an exciting position within the businesses and offers variety, stimulation and challenge and a chance to make a real contribution. Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining Engineering CAD models, drawings, and Manufacturing build documentation from first release (ensuring DFM)
- Creation and maintenance of Manufacturing Documentation, Product CAD & BOM data required for product manufacture, in accordance with our procedures
- To co-ordinate updates to existing Manufacturing documentation, incorporating latest processes or techniques
- To work in partnership with the Research & Design team to ensure that all product designs are fully manufacturable and that accurate, clear and concise CAD data (to an agreed assembly structure) has been provided
- Liaising with other relevant teams during the product development phase
- Providing a range of assistance intended to improve existing operations, incorporating updated methods and processes
- To assist in driving and managing change within the Manufacturing discipline; follow best practice manufacturing strategies
- To assist in the creation, development, analysis and safe testing of any design improvements
- Constantly review procedures and processes to improve the quality of Spinnaker products in production
- Assist in investigating operational problems affecting production and deal with them in a systematic, methodical manner
- Create and update data collection spreadsheets for statistical evaluation where required
**About you**:
- You will demonstrate previous industrial experience and success within a CAD Technician role, together with the suitable supporting qualifications. You will possess CAD modelling and draughting experience (SolidWorks or similar)
- Ideally, you will possess a good understanding of products incorporating moving mechanical parts and electronic PCB's; and of parts for manufacture by injection moulding, metal fabrication, and vacuum forming. A good understanding of design for manufactureis desirable
- An excellent communicator, you will possess strong collaboration skills, able to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
- A pragmatic person and logical thinker, you will be self-motivated, focused, well-organised and able to multi-task and work to deadlines, and possess the confidence, enthusiasm and drive to make a significant contribution, whilst still being keen to learnnew areas for development
