The Trust is expanding its property portfolio as an integrated Health Care provider and as a result, a full-time vacancy has arisen within the Estates Department for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Craftworker (Builder/Joiner). The Estates Team provides planned and reactive maintenance and emergency call-out services 24/7, 365 days a year to 96 buildings across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

This role is critical to the Estates Department's maintenance support service and is demanding and varied as it covers a range of services. The role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning and maintenance of a range of engineering and building services in the Trust's clinical and non-clinical facilities.

Operating as a mobile Multi-Skilled Maintenance Craftworker (Building/Joiner), you will receive your work on a handheld device from the Estates and Facilities Helpdesk and Team Leader. You will be expected to prioritise your daily workload ensuring you complete the tasks in the given priority. The role will predominately include undertaking statutory and non-statutory planned preventative maintenance (with correct training).

You will be required to interpret work from drawings, instructions and specifications; diagnose faults and carry out necessary repair work. In conjunction with the Team Leader, you will liaise with clinical teams when carrying out work in patient areas to ensure patient safety so good communication and organisational skills are paramount to being a success in this role. It is essential you have an understanding of other craftsmen’s work in relation to their own discipline to provide a coherent service when carrying out both maintenance and minor work schemes.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
