Dow is looking for Analytical Technologist role to be located at Barry, UK.

Supports manufacturing operations by consulting with the plant client to understand their needs, conducting complex routine and non-routine laboratory analyses, evaluating standard and non-standard results using statistical tools as needed to ensure high quality data and results are delivered to the client and customer. Uses data systems to monitor analytical system performance, makes modifications, as needed, for changing requirements and improvements and reports results to clients and customers. Performs complex calibration and preventive maintenance of analytical equipment and methods. Provides implementation and qualification of new analytical equipment and methods. Requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities / Duties
- Performs complex routine and non-routine analyses, modifies routine methods for non-routine analysis as needed, and coaches team members with less experience to gain proficiency in these methods.
- Facilitates the sample submission process for routine and non-routine samples, reviewing all submissions for value and alignment with plant goals.
- Manages raw materials and product retain samples and storage.
- Schedules and performs advanced calibration and preventative maintenance of analytical systems.
- Monitors analytical systems for reliability and performance, evaluate validity of routine and non-routine data, applies statistical tools to ensure accurate interpretation of results and takes appropriate action.
- Conducts high level troubleshooting on analytical instrumentation and methods and escalates to experts for unique problems as appropriate.
- Performs troubleshooting, improvement and maintenance on Laboratory Information Technology (LIT) and data handling systems.
- Implements and qualifies new analytical equipment and methods.
- Implements improvements to lab work processes and tools.

Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of Vocational Education or Upper Secondary Education (i.e. High School Diploma) plus laboratory, manufacturing or other related experience.
- Post Upper Secondary Education coursework in chemistry or related coursework.
