**The Opportunity**

As a Project Controls Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in planning, commercial, operations, and payroll within a major project environment. You will support project teams in tracking progress, managing costs, optimizing efficiency, and assisting with payroll processes. This apprenticeship provides a solid foundation for a career in project management, commercial, cost control, payroll administration, and scheduling.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Planning & Scheduling**:

- Assist in developing project schedules using software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Track project progress and report any delays or risks.
- Support the creation of work breakdown structures (WBS) and schedules.

**Commercial & Cost Control**:

- Assist in budget tracking and financial forecasting.
- Learn how to manage contracts, procurement, and cost analysis.
- Support the commercial team with reporting and invoice validation.

**Operations & Reporting**:

- Gather and analyse project data to support decision-making.
- Assist in risk management and change control processes.
- Produce reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.

**Payroll & Timekeeping**:

- Support payroll processing, ensuring accurate wages for project staff.
- Assist in maintaining timesheets, attendance records, and compliance checks.
- Work with the finance and HR teams to ensure correct payroll deductions and adjustments.
- Help resolve payroll-related queries and discrepancies.

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths & English (essential).
- A-Level/BTEC in Business, Maths (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of payroll systems and processes (or willingness to learn).
- Willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment.

**Requirements of role**:

- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths & English (essential).
- A-Level/BTEC in Business, Maths (preferred).
