Butler Ross have a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join an fast paced manufacturing and distribution company based in Stoke-on-Trent. They already have a well established purchasing team and already have all of the processes and procedures in placebut they are looking for someone who can pick up these processes and then hopefully be able to offer some improvements and suggest a more strategic approach to improve the department as a whole.
**Duties of the Buyer**
- Purchasing of both raw materials and pre-manufactured items to go into production or distribution respectively.
- Placing PO's with MRP recommendations.
- Working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Close liaison with both planning and production to ensure orders are processed in time and all SKU requirements are met.
- Communicate effectively with finance department on all issues associated with purchasing.
- Leading supplier negotiations and ensuring effectively supplier management.
- To ensure that quote files, purchase order information and all other relevant data is maintained accurately and promptly.
**Experience Required for the Buyer**
- At least 3 years experience in a similar role.
- Able to keep up with a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with overseas purchasing and extended supply chains, including USA, Europe and Far East.
- Excellent communication and supplier management skills.
- Previous experience with strategic purchasing and a familiarity with continuous improvement.
This role will be well suited to a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Purchasing Assistant, Procurement Assistant, Junior Buyer, Category Assistant, Commodity Assistant or Purchasing Specialist.
