Champion and promote occupational health and safety awareness across the business and site
Co-ordinate and monitor safety related functions, including risk assessment, training, accident investigation, workplace safety audits and that inspections are being satisfactorily completed

**Description**
Health and Safety Co-Ordinator Responsibilities
- Provide day to day support on general Health and Safety matters
- Understand and promote the company H&S Policies and Procedures
- Create and maintain the annual site Safety, Health & Environmental Management Improvement plan Organise and minute monthly Safety Forum meeting
- Maintain the operational risk register and support delivery of all associated actions
- Advise managers to ensure that their area has key staff appointed Facilitate the reporting and investigation of all near misses, accidents, damage incidents, dangerous occurrences and fire incidents
- Ensure that root causes are identified and recommendations made are delivered to prevent recurrence and improve controls
- Draft summary reports for lost time incidents to support defence of claims
- Monitor the quality of accident investigations by Managers
- Provide statistical summaries of incidents to Management and draw attention to significant trends and occurrences
- Identify H&S training needs of staff Ensure that staff are inducted, as per the Safety Procedure on Induction and Training and that suitable evidence files are maintained
- Ensure DSE assessment are produced and regularly Ensure that changes (facilities, processes, equipment etc.) are risk assessed and safety built into their implementation
- Deliver basic H&S training (Induction (Employee, Contractor and Agency), SHIELD Level 1, Manual Handling Training)
- Maintain a SHIELD level 5 skills matrix for the site
- Identify and schedule training as required and providing level 4 mentoring support to those working towards attaining level 3
- Co-ordinate the activities other trained Level 4 SHIELD mentors on site
**Profile**
Health and Safety Co-Ordinator Responsibilities
- Full UK driving licence
- Minimum NEBOSH Certificate
- Effective interpersonal, management and communication skills
- Experience with logistics and distribution
- Experience with commercial fleet health and safety
- Good Excel and data analysis skills
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
**Job Offer**
Health and Safety Co-Ordinator Responsibilities based in Staffordshire
- Salary up to £45,000
- Car allowance
