Senior Quantity Surveyor

The opportunity:
BIM-UK are recruiting for exciting new opportunities for multiple clients within the Water Sector and are seeking to fill several Senior Quantity Surveyor positions across the North of England.
Experience working with a main contractor is necessary. Water experience preferred but not essential and must have experience dealing directly with the clients and their representatives.
The roles:
- Full time
- Is inside IR35, however, contractors may opt for our Direct Worker option. This option reduces the benefits package available in order to maximise pay
- Have potential flexible working arrangements
- Working on Waste/ Water Treatment and Infrastructure schemes with a turnover in the region of ca. £30m
- Commercial management of NEC infrastructure projects in the water sector
Main duties will include;
- Providing pre-contract support to our client (Estimating & Procurement)
- Providing post-contract support to our client (payment, final accounts/payment, change management, risk management & programme reporting)
- Ensuring outputs align with client requirements and expectations
- Be client focused and understand the importance of delivering on time and within budget
- Have at least 5 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
- Have a degree in a construction or quantity surveying related discipline
- Have experience in leading quantity surveying commissions and managing others
- Preferably be a member of a recognised professional body such as the RICS or ICES
- Be a self-motivated team player that demonstrates excellent judgement and decision-making skills
- Be confident in the use of IT packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate strong inter-personal skills
- Consider sustainability, collaboration, innovation, and integrity in all aspects of their work.
- Have experience working as a NEC Project Manager
- Have attained the NEC ECC Project Manager Accreditation
- Leading, motivating and inspiring individuals
- Extensive experience of working with the latest forms of construction contracts, particularly NEC
- Advising on best practice cost analysis, cost forecasting, cost control and commercial assurance
- Project analysis and project reporting
- Risk identification, risk management and risk reduction
Remuneration and benefits for inside IR35 include:
- £45,000 - £60,000 salary (depending on experience/qualifications)
- 25 days holiday entitlement
