**About the opportunity...**:
We are recruiting for a General Merchandising Technologist to join our Quality Assurance team at our Customer Support Centre based in Walsall.

As a General Merchandising Technologist, you will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and be responsible for ensuring all General Merchandising products that are supplied and sold to customers for our Poundland & Dealz stores meet safety and legal requirements.

You will be working as part of a team working across multiple categories, including Homeware, Stationery, DIY, Gardening, Celebrations, Toys and Seasonal Events. It’s an exciting role to help develop the growing range of products included within the general merchandise sections.

**What you'll be doing...**:
On a day to day to basis, as a General Merchandising Technologist, you will be responsible for:

- Providing artwork to the artwork team for new and repeat product ranges
- Investigating and resolving quality assurance complaints and queries
- Provide technical support and information regarding any potential product recalls and enforcement authority notifications
- Keeping up to date with any legislation changes.

**What you'll need...**:
To be successful, you will need:

- Previous experience in Quality Assurance within the retail sector
- Excellent working knowledge of Retailer Own Brand Standards, GM labelling and packaging legislation and GM risk assessment awareness
- excellent time management skills with the ability to manage and prioritise own workload
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and Buying Team
- Flexibility
- Due to the nature of the role, there could be an expectation to work hours outside of regular working hours if occasionally required.
