Children's Residential Care Worker

Overview:
ISW care are a Ofsted registered Children's Home provider for children aged 8 to 17. We are currently recruiting for a children's residential care worker. Our home has recently been deemed 'Good' following Ofsted inspection.
40 hours a week 9-7pm Monday to Friday, night shifts are from 7pm to 9am the following day.
12 month fixed contract. Opportunity to renew
We require staff who are motivated and hard working to work in a friendly and professional team. We have excellent staff retention.
You will be required to work with vulnerable children who display emotionally behavioural difficulties. You will be required to provide day to care to the children helping implement routines and boundaries. The role also involves providing basic care such as preparing meals, personal care, activity planning, school transportation, and dealing with potential safeguarding matters.
We require you to have good communication and computer skills and be able to complete daily recording logs and care plans.
It is desirable if you have previous experience in working with children or have a caring nature to work with children.
We can provide training and 2 week induction. Staff will receive ongoing training and there is scope for further development.
You will need a up to date DBS check or be on the update DBS service
2 references will be needed prior to job offer.

**Responsibilities**:
- Drive to clients' homes and provide care according to individual care plans
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with children.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Document daily activities and report any changes in children's presentation.
**Requirements**:
- Experience working with children is essential
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes
- Knowledge of childcare practices is an advantage
