**Aeronautical Examiner - Inside IR35**
**Contract Term: 3 months**
**Contracting Authority: Ministry of Defence (MOD)**
**Location: Gosport, Portsmouth (5 days per week onsite)**

We are recruiting an Aeronautical Examiner to join Air Command’s Training Development and Standards Organisation. Coming from an aeronautical engineering background, you will play a key role in examining the work of students at Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering.
**As an Aeronautical Examiner, your main responsibilities would be**:
- Designing and maintaining unambiguous, relevant assessment banks to ensure achievement of the Formal Training Statement (FTS) for allocated career course modules and Targeted Employment Modules (TEM) employing the principles of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and quality standards laid down in the Joint Service Publication (JSP) 822.
- Providing advice and guidance to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on course assessment matters, including assessment amendment procedures. Vetting the need for, and accuracy of, all amendment proposals against allocated Career Course modules and TEMs, determining the effect on other courses and modules.
- Maintaining a continuous overview of the assessment of all allocated modules of career courses and TEMs so that their content, documentation, and assessment methods remain valid, current and continue to assess achievement of the Training Performance Standard.
- Preparing, compiling, checking mark and moderating all assessments for allocated modules of Career Courses and TEMs.
**You’ll have**:
- A recognised aeronautical engineering apprenticeship or a relevant alternative period of training
- Level 4 ONC/OND/FD **OR** Military Aviation SNCO in Avionic Trade
- General competency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel
- Ability and willingness to use knowledge in aeronautical engineering to examine the work of others
**It would be good for you to have**:
- Previous Air Force / Navy experience
- Experience with Moodle
**Please note that an examination background is not a prerequisite for this position as sufficient training will be provided.**
