**Healthcare Assistant **| Surgical Ward| Full time |Harpenden| Access to further training and development**

Based on our surgical ward, you will be responsible for providing a caring support service to our patients. You will be providing basic nursing care in conjunction with our qualified nurses, which will include observations through to assistance with hygiene and movement.

This is a full time position working on a rota basis covering days, nights and weekends

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- _Assisting the team on the surgical ward in the provision of exemplary patient care _
- _Contributing to the support and monitoring of patients _
- _Identifying and reporting any significant changes that might affect the patient's health and well-being to the appropriate person _
- _Assisting with the movement of patients in line with hospital policies _

**Who we're looking for**:

- Ideally you will have experience working as a HCA, ideally in a hospital setting, but we are open to other experience
- A caring demeanour with great communication skills is a must
- Ideally you will be NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or Care Certificate
- Flexibility to work on our rota
