**Children’s Residential Care Worker**

To provide support to young people with complex health care needs and learning difficulties

You must be over the age of 22 years to work in Children’s Residential Services.

**Location** Romiley

**Hours** 37.5 Hours per week

**Salary** In addition to this basic salary, you can also earn £87.50 per each sleep in and an additional 25% enhancement for all weekend hours worked.
- 2 yearly salary increments.
- 27 days annual leave rising to 30 after 5 years and 33 after 10 years plus bank holidays.

- Continuous professional development - Enrolled for QCF level 3 after 6 months probation

**Main Responsibilities**
- As a Residential Support Worker you will work as part of a residential care team providing support for individuals with their physical, emotional and social needs with an emphasis on promoting independence.
- Working on your own initiative and as part of a team, your role as Residential Support Worker will be to prepare, assist and enable the young people to fulfil the aims of their person-centred plan.
- You will work flexibly to undertake the full range of duties in a well-planned way that respects and values the young people with inclusivity, as individuals, in Woodlands and in the community.
- You will be expected to key work children & young people.
- You will support children and young people with a range of communication methods to promote choices, fulfilment and achievement.
- Some of the children that attend Woodlands have complex health needs. Stoma care, Gastro feeding and administration of medication will be a part of your role. Specialist training will be provided.
