**Description**

The successful Market Risk Analyst will:

- Assist in the daily monitoring of the market and measuring the risk exposure of member portfolios.
- Identify and implement improvements to the process around monitoring exposures, including stress testing scenarios.
- Monitor current market volatility and ensure margin parameters are appropriate.
- Ensure backtesting results are analysed to ensure the accuracy of current parameters and that margins are reviewed and maintained in line with agreed policies.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative input into the documentation of risk methodologies.
- Ensure documentation of risk models and methodology is accurate for members and regulators.
- Help to ensure default management capabilities are sufficient to manage a default in line with regulations.
- Assist in the risk analysis of new products and proposed changes to methodologies.
- Assist in the business testing of IT systems, including documentation of test cases, test results and escalate defects to senior management.
- Assist in the maintaining and enhancing of existing risk management tools and systems to meet demands for new products or services or to meet improving regulatory or industry standards.
- Help to ensure models are developed with due consideration to control model risk.
- Comply with all relevant policies and internal guidance and fully cooperate with audits, investigations, queries and reporting requirements in relation to complying with relevant laws and policies.
- Assist in the documentation of internal procedures and identify improvements.
- Proactively identify improvements or solutions to issues and risks and undertake appropriate escalation

**Profile**

The successful Market Risk Analyst:

- Risk management experience
- Risk margin algorithms (SPAN, VaR etc)
- Understanding of back testing and stress testing
- Commodities experience
