ADAS is looking for an Environmental Consultant with a background in environmental science (focused on water quality or quantitative ecology) and is passionate about tackling environmental issues and in creating solutions to improve the environmental footprint of agriculture and land management to join our Modelling and Informatics team. This is a full-time, permanent position located in Bristol with the potential for home working opportunities.

Contributing to the entire life cycle of projects, you will have strong knowledge of either water quality issues or quantitative ecology to contribute to the development of analyses, models and tools for use by the agricultural industry and government to improve the efficiency and environmental footprint of agricultural production. Skills in the development of scripts to automate data analysis and in the development of models and tools is highly desirable

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of existing projects and further develop our business in either water quality or quantitative ecology

Contribute to the production of tools supporting decision-making in agriculture by a range of stakeholders from farmers through to government policy makers

Manipulation, management and analysis of environmental data sets, including GIS data

Person Specification

Numerate background and enjoy solving complex problems

Strong knowledge of water quality or quantitative ecology

Are able to rapidly assimilate and synthesise information and communicate effectively with a range of audiences to transfer the knowledge gained

Experience in the analysis of environmental datasets and in the development of environmental models

Capability to work with large, complex datasets, including GIS data and large databases

Experience of presenting work and outputs using a range of tools and approaches

Salary and Benefits

£23,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
