Working 37.5 as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll provide person-centred care for people living with neurological and long-term conditions, including those living with physical disabilities and recovering from traumatic injuries.

With experience from the NHS or private sector, you'll have a natural way with people as you listen and support individuals to ensure that their communication needs are assessed and supported with evidence-based interventions.

You will design and deliver group and individual activities, assessments, interventions and treatments to support their care plans and promote recovery as they overcome communication and swallowing difficulties.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported and, will have access to a range of training courses and professional development to support your career growth.

**What you will be doing**
- Provide assessment, diagnosis and appropriate speech and language therapy intervention for people referred to the service
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge in communication and swallowing disorders
- Contribute to the assessment and information-gathering regarding Service Users' mental capacity and ability to give informed consent
- Assist Service Users to maximise their independence in decision-making and communicating their wishes

The service is a 24/7 environment, with full time hours either 8am-8pm for days or 8pm-8am for nights. Part-time hours are a combination of early shifts (8am-2pm) and late shifts (2pm-8pm). Both positions are across the full week so there are no set daysin which you will work, with weekends included on a rota.

**To be successful in this role, you'll need**
- To be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist and Dysphagia Management skills
- HCPC registration
- Experience in a similar environment
- Evidence of continuing Professional Development

**Where you will be working**

The Dean Neurological Centre has 60 beds in Gloucester (GL2 9EE), which is on the outskirts of the town within easy commute from Gloucester, Cheltenham and surrounding villages.

The Centre delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people living with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability and independent living.

It specialises in slow stream rehabilitation where the emphasis is placed on maximising each individual's abilities, comfort and quality of life.

Bedrooms are fitted with high dependency equipment, including ceiling track hoists built in suction and oxygen equipment. There are also well-equipped therapy spaces and other facilities such as gardens, gym and minibus.
