**The Opportunity**
Alpha’s Settlements team is at the heart of its business. It is the busy thriving hub that has enabled us to remain an agile, fast growth business. A small but highly successful team, the department is responsible for managing billions per annum in transactions, whilst forging key relationships with our clients, banks and Front Office employees.
Alpha’s Settlements team are highly respected with the business, and as such you’ll have high expectations to meet. Working within a fast-paced and often demanding environment, you’ll be an integral part of the team from day one, responsible for ensuring the department is running as efficiently as possible. Initially, the role will require you to remain level-headed whilst executing numerous tasks at once with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. However, you’ll quickly develop to take on new challenges and initiatives, centred around maximising efficiencies and strengthening controls within the department. To do this you’ll need to be someone who has a strong ability to problem solve, rises to challenges, and is capable of earning the trust of a range of different stakeholders. By doing this, you will naturally find yourself not only maximising the value of the Settlements department, but also your role within it.

**Key Responsibilities**
Working as part of the global settlements team and reporting to the Head of Settlements, you will oversee and manage all aspects of inbound and outbound payments. Key responsibilities include:
- Booking of incoming funds
- Releasing of outbound payments
- Handling payment queries
- Managing FX trade reconciliations
- Bank account reconciliation
- Liaising with internal departments to resolve queries
- Liaising with clients (both internal and external) to resolve any queries raised in a timely manner
- Identifying system and process improvements and raising these for consideration
- Participating in projects ensuring business requirements are understood and agreed by change and technology
**Requirements**:
- Experience in financial services (FX brokerage or payments) preferred
- Strong time management skills
- Methodical and numerate, with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills with ability to both support and influence internal and external stakeholders
- You must be diligent, proactive and committed
- You must have the ability to adapt to new challenges and thrive outside of your comfort zones
