**THE OPPORTUNITY**
You will make an impact in our growing business by providing advice and support for all aspects of Health and Safety across our UK warehouses, offices, homeworkers. You will be confident managing health and safety continuous improvement, developing and rolling out training, and using your knowledge and research skills to advise on requirements and best practices. You will be an active member of the business, collaborating on business-wide projects and events to ensure health and safety compliance.
Reporting to the Office Manager, you will have one report who will support you with day-to-day H&S activities. Along with your team, you will also work closely with the Managing Director to ensure compliance across the site, and the HR team on people processes from a H&S perspective.
We are looking for someone with excellent people skills, with a passion for coaching and training others in H&S and making an impact in a growing company. You’ll be confident giving constructive feedback across all levels to ensure compliance and drive best practice. You will be based full-time at our Head Office in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
**HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE**
- Manage health and safety across the business as part of the Facilities team
- Proactively review and provide recommendations for H&S policies and processes across the company
- Providing H&S advice to staff at all levels, proactively making recommendations as the business grows to ensure H&S compliance
- Keeping on top of H&S priorities, ensuring that resolutions are promptly implemented
- Maintain processes and ensure that any accountabilities are maintained across the business
- Work with the HR team to develop processes from a H&S perspective
- Manage the Health and Safety Officer supporting where needed with day-to-day H&S priorities, making sure that priorities are followed up efficiently
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate risk assessments take place, overseeing H&S investigations and follow up actions when required
- Develop and roll out training across the Company with appropriate materials, collaborating with HR as required
- Holding H&S and wellbeing related group and one to one meetings with staff as and when required
- Working with HR to implement a strategy for continual improvement in the Company’s safety and wellbeing, performance, and practices as we grow
- Maintain effective relationships internally and work towards raising the profile of health and safety, communicating the efforts the business makes in looking after the safety and wellbeing of the workforce
- Staying up to date with H&S legislation
- Conducting research and liaising with external companies as required
**THE TALENT YOU'LL BRING**
- Experience within a Health and Safety position at a Specialist level, covering warehouse operations and offices
- An industry recognised qualification such as NEBOSH
- Proven experience in managing H&S day-to-day
- Proven people management and coaching skills
- Highly compliance-orientated, ethical, confidential and proactive
- Experience in developing safety handbooks, documentation and training tools
- Excellent organisation and all-round communication skills
- Confident in decision making with a solution orientated mind-set
- Collaborative approach with ability to get staff at all levels enthusiastic about health and safety
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Mental health first aid qualification would be desirable
