**Markets ESG Non-Financial Risk and Control Lead** This Markets ESG Non-Financial Risk and Control Lead has global responsibility for overseeing design, implementation of oversight of ESG (ex Climate) controls in partnership with and across Markets businesses. The role requires strong analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills that rely on influence and building effective partnerships to execute ESG controls in a systematic, commercial, and effective way. - Ability to navigate Citigroup - A solid understanding and interest in ESG - A Risk and Control mindset - Seasoned project management and technology capabilities - Strong understanding of financial concepts **Responsibilities overview**: - In partnership with and across Markets businesses - Design, implement and oversee ESG (non-financial) Controls (including KPI Screening Panel) - Create a BAU culture of ownership for operating these controls - Represent Markets on Citi ESG control forums and other related fora - Assist in ESG internal audit reviews and with regulators - as required - Provide SME insight to Markets stakeholders on ESG control matters **Indicative Activities and Deliverables**: - Identify emerging risks related to ESG and greenwashing that could impact Markets by: - Monitoring media and NGO sentiment and topics - Monitoring emerging regulatory trends and supervisory expectations (by legal entity /jurisdiction) - Prioritise the emerging risks by: - Mapping out existing controls and governance structures in place - Identifying the gaps - Right-placing the responsibilities once the risk is more defined - Establish governance and tracking for: - ESG-related products (“suitability and appropriateness,” legal entity lens, 3rd party instruments) - ESG-related client revenues - Language in documentation and disclaimers relating to ESG - Act as Markets SME lead on ESG compliance and controls: - Represent Markets on ICG greenwashing, taxonomy or any other relevant working groups as required - Act as lead contact for Citi ESG organisation (e.g., NAC, Internal Audit ESG, Regulatory Affairs) - Drive awareness and education across Markets around ESG risks, regulations, and governance - in particular, around: - Suitability and appropriateness - Disclaimer language - Product approvals and labels - Third party opinions /certification **Experience, Skills and Capabilities**: - Leadership skills to navigate Markets and Citi - Thorough understanding of ESG and Markets - Understanding of the Risk and Controls environment - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Credibility to manage, motivate and influence teams - Superior problem-solving skills; pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Have a strong attention to detail and organisational skills **What we Offer**: As well as a competitive salary and consideration for a yearly discretionary bonus, Citi offers: - 27 days paid annual leave - Award winning pension scheme Life assurance - Private medical insurance with Bupa healthcare In addition, we offer a competitive maternity, paternity and adoption leave scheme and employees also have the option (provided they have a student loan from the Student Loan Company) to divert saver and company match contributions to their student loan.
