**About the role**:
This is a varied and busy role where you will work within a great supportive team who advocate knowledge sharing and working collaboratively. No day will ever be the same as there will be exposure to a wide range of queries.
Being part of the team, you will contribute to the efficiency of running the organisation’s monthly payrolls for circa 3,000 employees with varying sets of terms and conditions. An important part of the role will be to provide professional payroll advice and guidance to all staff within the colleges and Activate Apprenticeships.
Other duties include processing starter and leaver payments, process pay/expense claims and statutory/ voluntary deductions and complete detailed checks to ensure the accuracy of the payroll.
**What do you need to be successful as a Payroll Officer at Activate Learning**?**
Joining the payroll team at Activate Learning, you will have experience working within a busy payroll/clerical/administrative or customer facing environment and must be able to demonstrate impeccable attention to detail with the ability to prioritise your workload.
- Experience of LGPS and Teachers Pensions systems
- Experience of payroll Administration
- Knowledge of payroll gross to net calculations and HMRC procedures for PAYE
- Excellent customer service skills & a team player
- Competent using Office programs; word, excel
