JOB OVERVIEW

You will provide administrative and business support to the senior team, including attending meetings to take minutes.
In addition, you will liaise between UEL and various departments within University Hospital Southampton (UHS), supporting internal and external communications, staff training, induction, project support and business development.

The role requires attendance Monday to Friday (8 hours/day including 30 minute unpaid lunch break) totalling 37.5 hours/week.
Primarily based at he UEL Warehouse (Eastleigh) with occasional requirmeent to work at UHS.

UEL is a wholly owned subsidiary of UHS. The company is responsible for the design and construction of new buildings, and the ongoing provision of services, including estates maintenance, soft facilities management and the managment equipment, consumables and materials.

What you’ll do
- Handle complex and sensitive information and enquiries with discretion and trustworthiness, communicating with a range of stakeholders, within and outside UEL.
- Participate in day-to-day budget management via astute planning and control. Place purchase order and act as signatory for petty cash.
- Maintain and update departmental policies and procedures with the support of the Head of Business Operations.
- Review policies, systems, and processes to ensure they are fit for purpose, making recommendations and suggestions for improvement.

What we’re looking for
- Formal qualification or training in business administration and/or relevant experience in administration business support e.g., NVQ level 3 in business administration or similar.
- Experience of providing project admin support, tracking project plans, and updating relevant documentation.
- Strive for making improvements and continuous development.
- Ability to use own initiative and escalate where required.
- Team player.
