**Procurement/Materials Controller**
**Location**: Denton, Manchester, M34 3UL
**Department**: Purchasing/Supply Chain
**Reports to**: Purchasing Manager
**Employment Type**: Permanent, 40 Hours a Week, Monday to Friday

**General **Description**

Working as part of theSupply Chain Department, you will be responsible for the purchasing andeffective management of stock levels for a portion of TKCs product portfolio

**Key Tasks**
- Managing the performance of suppliers and ensuring that goods get delivered on time and in full.
- Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
- Work alongside other members of the Purchasing department regarding pricing maintenance, stock holding and deliveries.
- Working closely with the Service and Sales Departments regarding stock issues.
- Constantly question current practices, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing process changes with Managers.
- P/O housekeeping ensuring all P/O are closed/completed and records kept up to date.
- Placing orders with suppliers, updating all data aspects of the supply chain, including order confirmations, expected delivery dates, delay reporting, chasing overdue information & goods.
- Monitoring stock forecasts vs actual usage, mitigating supply risks as a result.
- Understand supplier production constraints, lead times and seasonal demand increments.
- Contribute with updating reports on different supply chain metrics (e.g. forecast accuracy, backorder quantity, shelf life control, inventory reports).
- Monitor stock turnover and ensure that the right mix of products are held in stock.
- Plan obsolescence of stock.
- Manipulating item set up to all in line with current/future sales and warehouse stocking requirements.
- Constantly analysing and updating the MRP system.
- Broad knowledge of forecasting and inventory control.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to drive and deliver new initiatives and process improvements.
- Knowledge of MRP systems.
- Strong analytical skills ability to deal with large amounts of complex data.
- Good organisational skills.
- Open communicator able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms.
- Team player.
***Work/Educational Experience**
**Essential**
- Minimum of 2 years in a purchasing role
**Desirable**
- Experience of working in the KBB industry/FMCG
