**Job description**:
As a Team Leader you will manage a small team of Frontline Logistics Officers who are responsible for ordering supplies for our agency's (Driving Vehicle Standards Agency) front line workers.

We currently own circa 600 properties within Great Britain and it is the responsibility of this team to ensure that goods and services are delivered and administered to a high standard. No day is the same and this team is responsible for ordering a range of goods and administering a range of services (including tools and clothing deliveries) for an entire DVSA site.

The main stakeholders within this role will be our staff based within our Operational and Enforcement departments but there may also be a need to liaise and purchase goods for other areas (as required).

In this role you will report to the Frontline Logistics Manager and you will be responsible for ensuring that the team deliver an effective and efficient service to all of their customers. Stakeholder engagement will be a key responsibility within this role (both internally and externally) and there will be contract management responsibilities.

Other responsibilities include:

- Executing management responsibilities effectively and in line with DVSA policies and processes, planning and coordinating tasks and activities and taking responsibility for ensuring objectives are delivered.
- Evaluating the business needs of requests received for all goods and services including equipment and supplies, and consideration of budgets.
- Approving orders made by the Frontline Logistics team including but not limited to stationery, operational tools and equipment via contract, Government Procurement Cards or procurement procedures.
- Verifying and authorising of invoices and Purchase Orders using the Shared Service Portal or other payment systems in order to meet Prompt Payment Target.
- Leading team meetings, contributing own views and opinions and support others in relation to managing contracts and day to day activities.
- Responding professionally and in a timely fashion to internal and external customers.
- Working in collaboration with colleagues across all functions for the good of DVSA and to create a high performing and well respected Agency.

**Person specification**:
**About You**

To be successful in this role you will have current experience of working within a customer experience environment (or a similar environment where you've had to work closely with a range of people).

Whilst you may not possess direct line management experience you must have the ability to demonstrate leadership skills with enthusiasm and innovation which will be essential for the delivery of team priorities.

You will have experience of using Microsoft Office (including Excel) and SharePoint.

Given the nature of this position you must be highly organised and have the ability to work within tight timeframes.

You will have excellent communication and listening skills and will have the ability to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels.

You will be able to work effectively within a team but also be self
- motivated to work independently.
