**Technical Lead**
- **Salary**:£40,000 - £50,000
- **Basis**:Permanent, Full-Time (37 hours per week)
As Technical Lead you will take ownership of our technical infrastructure, underpin our product, and support teams and ultimately help us build an internal engineering function. This is not a role that will see you writing code on a day-to-day basis but will involve building solutions (through code or no code methods) to prototype ideas and new services.

**The Role**

The role is accountable for the seamless operation, integration, and direction of our digital products:

- Review and develop our architecture to ensure supports our flexible business needs
- Provide technical solutions and integration support for existing and new digital products
- Act as a point of escalation for technical/integration questions from (3rd party) developers and the internal product and support teams
- Ensure systems/interconnection documentation is available and accurate, with architecture decisions suitably recorded; enable a shift left culture with the support team
The role holder will also:

- Identify service improvement opportunities and technical debt, working with the Product Manager to ensure these are implemented.
- Ensure integration, deployment and testing mechanisms are streamlined with the goal of being able to deploy little and often
- Identify, prioritise, and propose architecture improvements to ensure best possible performance, stability, and cost (working with the technical resource from external partners)
- Ensure environments and access are provisioned appropriately, subscriptions are managed to ensure value for money - working with suppliers to tune setups
- Experience evaluating, debugging, and supporting digital services using modern API and authentication technology; the ability to assimilate API documentation quickly.
- Good knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud platforms, ideally including experience with technologies like Cloudfront, ELB, EC2, RDS, FaaS
- Competent using one or more modern programming languages to solve tasks or demonstrate a proof of concept; ideally Python/PHP/JS
- Experience using tools like Postman or Insomnia for API testing and verification in real world situations
- Good understanding of version control systems, in particular git[hub/lab] and integration with CI/CD tools.
- Comfortable writing complex queries against SQL Server / Postgresql / MySQL (including stored procedures).
- Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills
- Excellent attention to detail whilst working to deadlines and managing a varied workload
- Great communication skills, a positive, enthusiastic, and approachable manner
