An exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated shipping and customer coordinator to join a welcoming and friendly team in Alton. Our client offers modern offices, fantastic working hours and the opportunity to grow within a position whilstfollowing an an individual work plan

The successful shipping and customs coordinator will meet day-to-day short-term objectives and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. They will provide guidance and support in the selection of vendors related to imports/exports suchas transportation, insurance, storage, customs agents etc and follow up and control of all activities with those parties.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Provide clearance instructions for all imports & maintain spreadsheet (IPR, OPR, Airworthiness)
- Ensure all import, export entries are correct, chase carriers for any amendments
- Submit IPR returns report every quarter to HMRC and be the main point of contact for HMRC and host any onsite audits.
- Arrange any adhoc shipments (freight, same day, AOG)
- Check and approve all shipping invoices with accounts and approve deferment statements with accounts.
- Archive all import and export shipping paperwork, C88 entries. File and maintain completed yellow delivery notes.
- Liaise with the stores team to ensure shipments are ready prior to contacting the carrier/customer to arrange collection. Check all shipping paperwork prior to despatch, ensure customs info is correct.
- Update the AWB information on CAFAM everyday so the repairs/sales team can provide AWB numbers to customers.
- Negotiating rates with suppliers and dealing with all the admin in relation to exports
- Work closely with finance and operations teams to develop processes to assure compliance with all country requirements
- Prepare / maintain reporting of current status and progress of all import / export activity to operational and finance team and raise monthly/quarterly HMRC reports

**Previous Experience**:

- Providing customs clearances
- Knowledge of HMRC duty relief schemes (IPR, OPR, Airworthiness etc)
- Knowledge of deferment accounts
- Dealing with freight agents and arranging shipments
- Working alongside various departments on shipping issues (sales, repairs, accounts)
- Managing own workload and prioritising jobs.
- Knowledge of UK and US Export Laws and Regulations
- Good understanding of commercial trade terms & conditions
- Knowledge / experience of AEO (desirable but not essential)
