**AJ Chambers are pleased to be working with a very dynamic and modern practice, looking to expand the business through organic growth, and as such have a requirement for a commercially minded Director or Director Designate.**

You may currently be a junior partner or senior manager within a small or medium sized practice and are looking to progress in your career but are frustrated by the lack of promotional prospects or you have found yourself in a role that is restricted andstifled by traditional views of how a practice should be run. You may even be a partner within an existing practice but are looking to work for a firm that is taking a more modern approach.

**What will you be doing?**

Your role will see you overseeing the delivery of assignments for a _**diverse portfolio**_ of clients, leading some of the larger, more complex assignments, business development, and the coaching/mentoring of more junior staff.

**What is required to be successful in this position?**
- Able to understand business issues affecting SMEs and can demonstrate business acumen
- A qualified accountant, ideally with experience of audit within a general practice dealing with SMEs.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong leadership qualities
- Willing to learn and adapt to an ever-changing economic landscape
- Committed to working alongside and with business owners to make their businesses more successful
- Willing to keep abreast of developing taxation issues and opportunities affecting SMEs and assist clients in corporate finance activities including company restructuring
- Process and systems orientation and well organised with the ability to manage their time effectively
- Self-motivated and able to motivate and manage a team
- Decisive and wants to be actively involved in decision making
- Willing to get involved in driving the practice forward
- Wanting to be part of a business which focusses on results and developing an acceptable work/life balance.
- Willing to develop strategic alliances with experts who are able to offer specialist advice to clients when required.
- Able or willing to understand value pricing models for work.
