We are a Community Interest Company based in Brimscombe, Stroud, GL5 2QN

The Bike Drop CIC is a local bike shop like no other We specialize in offering top-quality servicing and repairs alongside a refurbished bike shop, E-Bike courier network, and cycle mechanic training centre.
- We refurbish bikes donated to us to bring unused bikes back to life and create a reliable source of lower-cost bikes - our mechanics are given full creative license to get imaginative with older and outdated bike standards to update and turn into bikes that you really want to ride
- We also run a local E-Bike courier service - offering sustainable pedal-powered deliveries around the district using pedal-power
- Our Dr. Bike event workshops take our skills and tools and hit the road fixing bikes as we go

Attending events or going to businesses to service the staff’s fleet, all aimed at keeping people safe and riding all year round
- Finally, we also run paid 9-month cycle mechanic training programs. We take people with no previous bike mechanics skills and pay them properly to learn - like an apprenticeship but with a proper wage. Creating a viable foothold into the cycle industry and removing the economic barriers to becoming a skilled cycle mechanic

All of this is with one aim in mind - To get more people on bikes We work with refugee groups to give bikes away whenever we can to empower independence

The Bike Drop is a CIC - Community Interest Company, which is different from a ‘normal’ company, in that we run a business, aiming to make a profit, like any other business, however, rather than dishing that out to directors, or shareholders, we re-invest the money into our local community - Giving away fully refurbished bikes & creating paid training opportunities.
- **About the role**_

We are looking for a skilled cycle mechanic to join our workshop team, currently made up of two exceptional mechanics - Alan & Kes - and Harry as workshop & business Manager.

Your role would be to join the workshop team and service bikes to exceptional quality, provide top-notch customer service, Identify and order parts, refurbish donated bikes to add to our onsite and online shop, get involved with event workshops, and get involved with learning and development of your own skills and those of others. You will be a valued member of a small team focussed on working together to grow our up

- **Requirements**_
- At least 2 years working in the Industry as a cycle mechanic repairing bikes to an exceptional standard
- A passion for cycling
- Enthusiasm to join a quickly growing bike business
- Engaged with improving cycling within the district
- Comfortable with customer interaction in person and over the phone.
- Experience handling, ordering & selling stock
- Comfortable using technology in the workshop on a daily basis
- A problem-solving mind-set with a resilient & determined nature
- A can-do attitude for working in different seasons & environments

- **Salary & Hours**_
- **£ 23,400 pro rata - **Role is 4 days per week (30 hours) - Wednesday - Saturdays - With the option of going to 5 days a week (37.5) hours Tuesday - Saturdays.
