Picker - Nights

The Picker will be working for one of the best-known brands in the UK, who offer permanent contracts for the right people. The objective of the Picker role is to assist the Section Leader in achieving the required service levels at all times, whilst contributingto an efficient and co-operative working environment, optimum productivity, tightly controlled inventory, mínimal costs, strong due diligence and accurate accounts.

Hours of work: 5pm - Midnight - 4 on, 2 off

Key Responsibilities;
- Informs their Section Leader of any damaged stock.
- Selects products accurately and efficiently, ensuring care in the handling and positioning of stock to minimise damage and optimise pallet height/ stability.
- Achieves the set picking targets.
- Ensures completed pallets are secured and clearly marked with the correct store number and placed in the correct despatch lane.
- Carries out all paperwork duties accurately.
- Ensures products are selected safely to avoid personal injury to themselves or stock loss to the company by following manual handling procedures.
- Operates the Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) in a safe and efficient manner, reporting any faults to the Maintenance Manager and ensures the trucks are put on charge supply at the end of the shift.
- Ensures the workplace is kept clean and tidy and ensures all spillages / breakages are cleared immediately.

Skills Required:

- Previous warehouse and distribution experience is essential.
- Experience of using PPT, LLOP of Counterbalance trucks would be preferred, but isn’t essential.
- Confident to work to pick targets.
- Able to deal with the physical element of the role and being on your feet for the full shift.
- Dedicated, committed and hard working.

Due to the location of the site, you do need your own transport.
