Transport Planner

We’ve got just the rolefor you. Following an internal promotion, we are currently looking for a Transport Planner to join our team.

Working any 5 from 7 days a week, we need you to be able to prioritise workloads and deal with a demanding transport plan for both national and international deliveries. Liaising with multiple customers, DFDS sites and delivery points, we’ll need you toforge relationships quickly with our drivers, subcontractors, and stakeholders, to maximise revenue where possible. Naturally, excellent communication skills are a prerequisite, ensuring delivery issues are fully communicated to operational teams and resolvedin a timely manner. This will help ensure you can raise vehicle utilisation. You will be expected to create a cost-effective plan that meets the needs of our business and customers, whilst ensuring both driver and vehicle compliance and regulations are adheredto.

As well as being outgoing and confident, you’ll need to be determined, have a positive can-do attitude, combined with the ability and enterprise to constantly review the transport plan. This is to ensure it is as efficient and achievable as possible, whilststill maintaining targeted vehicle earnings and customer service. For this role we will need you to demonstrate exceptional knowledge of Microsoft packages combined with a proficient IT skillset. Previous experience of vehicle route planning would be advantageousalong with knowledge of Driver hours, Tachographs & the Working Time Directive legislation. This role does include a small amount of overtime when the business requires and it is imperative you have effective communication and customer service skills, to besuccessful in this role.
