**MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE**
The HSE Manager in Bristol will be responsible for taking a lead in further developing and delivering the Health & Safety culture program for the project.
You will be responsible for the effective day to day Health and Safety Environment (HSE) management by developing and establishing best practices covering business operations including construction and operations & maintenance.
The incumbent will integrate health and safety standards into the wider UK business and ensure a stable and structured HSE system is in place to achieve World Class Health and Safety performances.
You will be responsible for improving HSE performance standards by continuously leading evaluations and critical analysis of data, metrics and processes
You will be supported by our client's HSE Manager and work closely with Operations, Engineering and Delivery teams alongside their service partners.
You will be part of a diverse and driven team, working with internal and external stakeholders across our operations, engineering, commercial and delivery teams, ensuring readiness for operations.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES**:
- Main contact of the HSE activity plan
- Support the Project teams with the day to day running of projects ensuring high health and safety standards throughout
- Carry out site visits and audit to ensure safe operations and plant by contractors and employees
- HSE knowledge transfer and alignment across whole organisation
- Ensure Contractor Management is of a high standard
- Establish and embed best practice HSE management systems
- Integrate and align all BHNL polices, processes, documents into our client's already established IMS certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
- Promotion of HSE culture and improved HSE performance standards
- Participation in the continuous improvement of the Health and Safety programs
- Assure regulatory compliance
- HSE support to ongoing projects related to construction, engineering and operations departments
- Ensure Implementation and alignment of all CDM requirements related to all projects, roles and responsibilities
- Provide positive challenge to peers across the business
- Manage HSE KPIs and reporting findings to the HSE Manager
- Carry out Gap analysis of project activities and support in Closing actions
**SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS**:
- University/ College Engineering (Master) or equivalent with additional certification inCDM,NEBOSH Diploma ideal butNEBOSH certificate qualified as a minimum/NVQL4 or equivalent
- Have several year's experience in all relevant HSE fields including understanding of safety in design, process as well as occupational safety experience on (large) construction sites
- Have experience maintaining management systems according to standards such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 9001.
- Excellent understanding of relevant regulations such as Asbestos, Legionnaires, pressure systems, CDM, DSEAR, COSHH
- Experience with managing working at height, confined space entry, hot works, TMP's
- Proven Contractor management experience
- Excellent communicator at all levels
