**Head of Fundraising** We are seeking an experienced senior fundraiser who can develop a strategy for generating income and build a fundraising and communications team for a Dementia Research charity. **Position**: Head of Fundraising **Location**: Hybrid - Homeworking / Bristol **Salary**: Up to £42k per annum **Hours**: Full time, permanent **Benefits**:Holiday entitlement is 23 days + Bank Holidays, pension, staff wellbeing plan inc. confidential emotional helpline **About the role**: You will be working for a charity has been funding research into Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia for over thirty years. Their aim is to fund research that helps identify the causes of dementia, develop earlier diagnosis and find effective clinicalinterventions. As Head of Fundraising you will develop and diversify the organisation’s funding base and income streams, you will be directly responsible for four people and will need to ensure they are supported and developed to be as effective as possible within theirroles. Some of your key responsibilities as Head of Fundraising will include: - Review and evolve the charity’s fundraising and promotional strategy - Develop and expand the fundraising and communications team - Develop new and existing relationships with legators, individual donors, businesses, trusts and foundations to increase income - Lead on the development of the legacy fundraising initiative and the expansion of community fundraising - Develop online fundraising tools and the use of new technology - Join the senior team in the development of supporter ("Friends") groups locally and further afield - Advise on volunteer engagement and interaction - Advise and assist with publicity and promotion of the work of the charity **About you**: This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Fundraiser to build on the excellent work of the organisation. We are looking for someone who will support and champion the need for research into dementia. You will need to bring with you the following skills and experience: - Experienced in a professional fundraising role, involving at least one of the following: legacy marketing, trusts and foundations, community fundraising or digital fundraising. - Track record of initiative in developing new ideas for fundraising and fundraising bids - Ability to establish good working partnerships with Trustees, staff, volunteers, external agencies and funders - Excellent interpersonal skills - Accurate and compelling writing skills - Demonstrate strong leadership skills to motivate, develop, delegate and lead a team of staff and volunteers - Empathy for the cause of defeating dementia Although not essential some personal or professional knowledge of dementia and its impact would be beneficial for this role.
