This is an exciting opportunity to work at Invicro London offering a suite of services in translational drug discovery and development, located at the Imperial College campus at Hammersmith Hospital in West London.
The PET team at Invicro is actively engaged in innovative and dynamic research programs which include the labelling of novel PET ligands/tracers and to support drug discovery and development. The PET Radiochemist will work in the Production team within the Clinical Chemistry department.
**The Role**
- Day-to-day production of PET radiopharmaceuticals to GMP standards. The task involves the operation of various automated radiochemistry/dispensing equipment and the completion of Production related documentation.
- Being involved with the development/ implementation of new radiotracers at Invicro.
- Keeping up to date with the relevant procedures and policies.
- Monitoring and maintaining lab stocks of chemicals, consumables, and spare parts.
- Authoring and reviewing simple procedures and other documents (e.g., forms, logbooks, validation protocols and technical reports) by following good documentation practices.
- Operating to approved quality standards by recording Production quality related actions (e.g., deviations and change controls) in a timely manner, to comply with the Invicro policies and regulatory requirements.
- Performing self-inspections, identifying gaps and implementing process improvements.
- Equipment maintenance in order to reduce the rate of batch failures and associated Production downtime.
- Troubleshooting simple fixes for various instruments in the laboratory and liaising with internal support teams or service engineers to organise repairs.
**Education and Competencies required**
- Be educated to a degree level in a related scientific discipline.
- Have demonstrable experience in Radiochemistry or related disciplines.
- Have demonstrable knowledge of GMP, validation and relevant regulations.
- Have knowledge and experience in HPLC, preferably including method development.
- Have validation experience (including laboratory equipment and process validation) which would be advantageous.
- Have some experience of computer programming and automation which would be advantageous.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, a logical approach to problem solving and good attention to detail.
- Have to be an effective team member, be well organized and able to work under pressure.
- Have previous experience with operation of a GMP grade A isolator and/or distribution of radiopharmaceuticals which would be advantageous.
