At Engage Education, we’re currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors across Watford after building strong relationships with schools within the area

**About the role**

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be supervising pupils carry out pre-planned work when teaching staff are off work for a certain period (for example, sickness or paternity leave). The main job of a Cover Supervisor is to manage a classroom and behaviour while ensuring that pupils complete the work which has been set.
- Supervising the students and ensuring they complete set tasks
- Managing behaviour
- Assisting pupils when they have questions
- Following the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
- Collecting the completed work and handing it to the Head of Department
- Providing feedback on the lesson and pupils

**About you**
- Previous school experience is desirable
- Be adaptable and flexible to change at short notice
- Understanding and supportive of the needs of the school and their students

- Supervise and manage classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher
- Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher and ensure students are engaged in learning activities
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide support and guidance to students, including assisting with assignments and answering questions
- Manage classroom behavior and enforce school policies
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and productive learning environment

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred
- Experience in tutoring, mentoring, or working with individuals with special needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents/guardians
- Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and approaches
- Knowledge of creative writing techniques is beneficial

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field is preferred, but not required
- Ability to work well with diverse groups of students, including those with autism or special education needs
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and materials
