**Company Description**
Cell therapies have been shown to cure devasting and previously untreatable diseases like cancer by re-programming the patient's own immune system. Giving more patients access to these life-saving therapies requires a revolution in manufacturing and process automation.
Cellular Origins, a TTP Company, is enabling scalable, cost-effective and efficient manufacture of cell and gene therapies. Our technology addresses the challenges associated with manufacturing at scale with an elegant robotic manufacturing automation solution that reduces cost and labour, eliminates human error, and increases efficiency.
We are looking to recruit an experienced cell therapy bioprocessing lab co-ordinator to support our business and take responsibility for several important functions in this interesting and varied role.
You will be a dedicated laboratory co-ordinator willing to take responsibility for the smooth running of the Cellular Origins biolabs, which will operate up to Containment Level 2+. You will be a team player able to communicate effectively with both scientists and workstream leaders. You will be dedicated to maintaining an organised laboratory environment, ensuring that teams have the space to work efficiently and safely. You will take on new responsibilities, seek challenging objectives, and pursue these with tenacity and pragmatism.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Cellular Origins biolabs, which will be used for both primary cell culture and cell transduction. Tasks include ensuring that equipment is appropriately maintained, that COSHH and risk assessments are in place and that teams have the resources they require to complete their work.
The business is at a very exciting stage as we develop and commercialise the technology internationally. We’re seeking a talented and flexible lab coordinator to deliver support to the business with a broad range of contributions including:
- Ensuring that the biology labs are operated in a clean and professional manner, including supplier management, general lab housekeeping, bin emptying, waste disposal, cleaning and tidying.
- Taking responsibility for assets and consumables, including ensuring that equipment is maintained and calibrated, co-ordinating service visits and making sure that consumables and chemicals are well-stocked.
- Conducting monthly laboratory inspections and actioning responses.
- Supporting preparation for HSE inspections and HTA audits.
- Laboratory monitoring, including weekly checks on first aid supplies, liquid nitrogen levels, CO2 cylinders, incubators and fridges/freezers.
- Taking responsibility for ordering, including supplier follow-up and communication where needed.
- Undertaking laboratory induction and training as needed.
- Co-ordinating space requirements and ensuring activities have appropriate documentation in place (i.e. COSHH, risk assessment, etc.)
- Attending operations meetings, working with the facilities team and communicating actions where needed.
**Qualifications**
Required skills for this role:
- You will be highly proactive, with an ability to manage a diverse range of responsibilities efficiently and reliably.
- You will be skilled in cultivating productive working relationships with a diverse team including colleagues and customers; and will build relationships with key external suppliers to ensure a secure supply chain.
- You will have experience in a similar role in a laboratory environment.
- You will have excellent attention to detail with high standards of written communication.
- You will have a positivity and energy appropriate to a fast-moving and ambitious organisation.
- A qualification in the Life Sciences is desirable but not essential.
