We have an exciting post for two Interim Modern Matrons for the South of the Sexual Health Service. Previously one role spanning Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, we have the opportunity to pilot two posts: a full-time position (37.5 hours) covering Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight and a part-time (30 hour) post covering Southampton and leading on a service wide element of care.
We are looking for two skilled Sexual Health Nurses with demonstrable management and leadership experience. This is an amazing opportunity to ensure the matron role is clinically visible, whilst maintaining strategic vision for the service, assessing and implementing continuous improvement and ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered.
You will be required to already be working at a senior Sexual Health Nurse level with the require attributes of a strong clinical leader who wants to collaboratively set the direction of the Sexual Health Service. In addition you will be required to support governance processes and patient safety, monitor workforce budgets, activity plans and stratigic projects as well as deputise for the Head of Quality and Professions, as required.
We are a busy Level 3 integrated, open access Sexual Health Service which covers Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
We operate a hub and spoke model of care to provide screening, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, HIV care, provision and ongoing management of PrEP and PEPSE, contraception including emergency contraception, vasectomy, sexual health promotion, sexual health advising and partner notification, psychosexual counselling and an outreach service. We also offer a range of specialist sexual health clinics for clients with an identified need or vulnerability.
The service offers an online screening service and an advice and signposting telephone line in addition to appointments. Patients are often able to receive a diagnosis, treatment and a plan for follow up care in one appointment.
The service works in partnership with GPs, social care, nurse specialists and midwives, unplanned pregnancy service and specialist young people’s services to provide the highest quality care for our patients.
