**Maintenance Operative**

Thornfield Grange is a specialist residential service with nursing for adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. Based in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, Thornfield Grange supports individuals who have behaviours that may challenge, aswell as those who have significant difficulties with social engagement.

The service has recently completed an exciting development to create single occupancy living for 3 individuals who may require additional support.

**Your Day-to-Day...**
- Undertake day-to-day maintenance and planned remedial works to keep plant, services and vehicles in working order, keeping records of call-outs and routine checks as directed.
- Carry out a range of tasks including decorating, basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
- Maintain equipment, services & vehicles
- Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards
- Be prepared to be on call on occasions to carry out emergency repair outside of normal working hours.
- Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights.
- 1 in 4 week call out for out of hours emergencies (Paid)

**You are...**
- Experienced in a similar role, or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years
- Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
- Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
- Preferably experienced in the electrical/plumbing/construction industry
- Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.
- Car Driver (advantageous)
