Provide a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy service to patients with communication and/or swallowing disorders at all stages of the cancer pathway. This will include acute, on-treat, rehabilitation, palliative and terminal stages of care.

Provide expert knowledge, education, advice and support to healthcare professionals in relation to Speech and Language Therapy as part of the management of people with cancer.

Act as an autonomous practitioner with highly specialist knowledge, skills and experience in order to assess, diagnose and manage own caseload of patients with swallowing and or communication disorders.

Contribute to Trust and department initiatives relating to specialist area.

To provide highly specialist advice, teaching and training for other healthcare professionals across the trust and the region.

To work alongside the lead clinician for the Proton Beam Therapy Speech and Language Therapy service.
